2017-05-21 Being Sent by the Messiah

Scripture Reading:
Luke 10:1-24

Key Idea:
To be a disciple is to be on mission for God. Following from the earlier sending in Luke 9:1-6, this second mission is expanded in terms of scale and understanding of the nature of Jesus’ Messiah-ship (Luke 9:18-62). The urgency and consequences of the mission are now held in greater intensity (Luke 10:4, 9-16). The opposition is now clearly defined as is the inevitable victory of God (Luke 10:18-24).
